Past Continuous
Past Continuous describes ongoing actions that were happening at a specific time in the past.
The Past Continuous tense (formed with was/were + verb-ing) describes actions that were in progress at a specific moment in the past. It is frequently used alongside the Past Simple to describe an ongoing action that was interrupted by a shorter action.
Examples
I was watching TV when you called.
I was watching TV when you called.
They were playing football at noon.
They were playing football at noon.
She was driving home in the rain.
She was driving home in the rain.
