Japanese Adjective to Adverb Conversion
Adverbial Conjugation of Adjectives
The rule for converting Japanese adjectives into adverbs: changing ~i to ~ku, and adding ~ni to ~na adjectives.
To modify a verb in Japanese, adjectives must be turned into adverbs. For 'i-adjectives', drop the final ~i and add ~ku (e.g., hayai [fast] -> hayaku [quickly]). For 'na-adjectives', add the particle 'ni' after the adjective root (e.g., shizuka [quiet] -> shizukani [quietly]). The irregular adjective 'ii' (good) becomes 'yoku' (well).
