Polish Prepositions od, dla, bez
Polish Prepositions with Genitive (od, dla, bez)
Common prepositions governing the Genitive case in Polish: od (from/since), dla (for), and bez (without).
In Polish, the Genitive case (Dopełniacz) is heavily used with prepositions. Three highly frequent ones are: 'od' (expresses point of origin in space or time, e.g., od dzisiaj - from today), 'dla' (specifies the recipient or beneficiary of an action, e.g., dla mamy - for mom), and 'bez' (denotes lack or absence of something, e.g., bez cukru - without sugar). All nouns and adjectives following these prepositions must take Genitive endings.
