How to use

The weak separable verb vorstellen ('to introduce / imagine / represent') conjugates regularly: stellt vor, stellte vor, hat vorgestellt. It has a vital reflexive grammar distinction: (1) With the reflexive pronoun in dative (sich vorstellen), it means 'to imagine / picture' (Ich stelle mir das vor — I imagine that). (2) With the reflexive pronoun in accusative (sich vorstellen), it means 'to introduce oneself' (Ich stelle mich vor — I introduce myself). When introducing someone else, it takes dative (to whom) and accusative (who) (Ich stelle dir meinen Bruder vor).
