A simple past tense expressing ongoing descriptions, habitual past routines ('used to'), and simultaneous physical/emotional states (-avo, -evo, -ivo).
In Italian grammar, the *Imperfect Tense (Imperfetto indicativo)* is a synthetic, single-word past tense used to express continuous, habitual, descriptive, or incomplete past circumstances without defined start or end points:
