In Kazakh, verbal aspect, action manner, completeness, and nuance are not conveyed through prefixes (as in Russian or Polish) but via *Compound Verbs with Aspectual Auxiliaries (Күрделі етістіктер). The construction consists of the lexical verb in the -ып / -іп / -п (or -а / -е / -й*) converb form plus a conjugated auxiliary verb that loses its lexical meaning and injects aspectual modification:

Major Aspectual Auxiliaries: 1. Тастау (to throw → Total Completion / Finality / Decisive Exhaustion): - оқып тастады (read it all up thoroughly / finished reading completely) - жеп тастады (ate it all up completely). 2. Беру (to give → Benefactive / Outward Direction / Action for Another): - жазып берді (wrote it down for him / did the writing for another) - түсіндіріп берді (explained it for someone). 3. Қою (to put → Definitive / Deliberate / Decisive Pre-emptive Action): - айтып қойды (blurted it out / told it beforehand) - жазып қойды (noted it down deliberately). 4. Көру (to see → Attempt / Trial 'to try doing'): - оқып көрді (tried reading it / checked it out) - істеп көр (give it a try!). 5.
