Common Prepositions in Romanian (la, cu, în, pe, pentru, de)

In Romanian, the vast majority of simple spatial, instrumental, and causal prepositions govern the *Accusative Case (cazul acuzativ)*:

The Crucial 'Naked Noun' Rule After Prepositions: In Romanian, nouns immediately preceded by most prepositions (such as la, în, pe, de, fără) must NOT take the enclitic definite article if they are unmodified by an adjective or relative clause: - Say Merg la școală (NOT Merg la școala). - Say Sunt în cameră (NOT Sunt în camera). - But if modified: Merg la școala nouă* (The article reappears!). Exception: The preposition cu (with) regularly retains the definite article: Scriu cu stiloul* (I write with the pen).
