An area; somewhere within an area. An open space, particularly a city square, market square, or courtyard. A street, sometimes but not always surrounding a public place, square, or plaza of the same name.

How to use

The preposition 'z' meaning 'from/out of' takes the genitive case (e.g., 'z Polski', 'z szafy'). When it means 'with', it takes the instrumental case (e.g., 'z przyjacielem'). Similar to 'w', it changes to 'ze' before words starting with difficult consonant clusters, especially those beginning with s, z, ż, sz, etc. (e.g., 'ze szkołą', 'ze mną').
