Intentional Future Tense (-мақ/-мек, -бақ/-бек, -пақ/-пек)
The suffix -мақ/-мек (-бақ/-бек, -пақ/-пек) expresses firm intention, determined purpose, or planned future decisions.
The *Intentional Future Tense (Мақсатты келер шақ) in Kazakh uses the suffix -мақ / -мек, -бақ / -бек, -пақ / -пек* (distributed according to consonant assimilation). It expresses a deliberate plan, purpose, or firm intention ('intend to do, purpose to do') conceived prior to the moment of speech.
Conjugation Paradigm: - 1st sg. (мен): бар-мақ-пын (I intend to go), кел-мек-пін (I intend to come) - 2nd sg. informal (сен): бар-мақ-сың, кел-мек-сің - 2nd sg. polite (сіз): бар-мақ-сыз, кел-мек-сіз - 3rd sg. (ол): бар-мақ / бар-мақ-шы (he intends to go) - 1st pl. (біз): бар-мақ-пыз, кел-мек-піз - 2nd pl. informal (сендер): бар-мақ-сыңдар - 2nd pl. polite (сіздер): бар-мақ-сыздар - 3rd pl. (олар): бар-мақ / бар-мақ-шы-лар.
Extended Suffix -шы/-ші: In spoken and literary Kazakh, the particle -шы / -ші is frequently added to reinforce intention: бармақшымын (I am planning to go), айтпақшы (he is about to say / by the way).
Negation: Negated analytically with the particle емес: Мен бұл үйді сатып алмақ емеспін (I have no intention of buying this house).
